Why take a Texas Defensive Driving course for your ticket? I will try and answer that for you in the words that follow.
Why not pay for the ticket?
The first answer is that it is usually more expensive. The second answer is that you don't want blemishes on your driving record. It is always a good idea to keep your driver record clean if at all possible because if you are unlucky or reckless and get multiple tickets on your record or get involved in a crash with multiple violations on your driver record a auto insurance surcharge could be coming. This will definately hit your pocketbook! If you choose to take a defensive driving course you will still have to pay a court fee (usually $90-125), but by successfully completing a state approved driver safety course (a.k.a. defensive driving) you will keep the violation off of your record and you will have the peace of mind to know that your driver record is clean just in case you run into some bad luck in the future behind the wheel.
